Upside-down House in Polyanytsia

an upside-down house in a clearing

Near the famous Ukrainian resort "Bukovel" and 5 km from ours of the "Shepit Lisu" hotel there is a real architectural gem - Perevernuta Khata (Upside-down House). This unique building, which was the first of its kind in Ukraine, attracts attention not only with its external form, but also with its unusual interior. Visitors enter a world where everything is turned upside down, which gives incredible impressions.

What is an Upside Down House?

This architectural object is located in the village of Polyanytsia, on the way to Bukovel. The unusualness of the house is that its foundation is located at the top, and the roof is located at the bottom. Visually, it seems as if the house is simply turned upside down. It creates a real sense of wonder and fabulousness.

Concept of the House and its Interior

When you enter the house, the feeling of unusualness intensifies. All household items, furniture and other details are attached to the ceiling, which creates the illusion of an inverted reality. Visitors can explore several rooms, see a typical Hutsul dwelling, but with the difference that it is all upside down.

Utility rooms and a bathroom are located on the first level, and a massive wooden staircase leads to the second floor. Here guests are greeted by amazing interior elements: furniture, paintings, and even stuffed animals that seem to be "glued" to the ceiling.

Popularity among tourists

The Inverted House has become a favorite place for many tourists who come to Bukovel. Excursion buses regularly stop here, as well as tourists with their own cars, to take bright photos and feel the atmosphere of this unique place. The hut is not only an interesting place to visit, but also a great location for photos and relaxation.
